Indiana has continued to make their ascent into the elite of the Eastern Conference. They’ve won 8 of their past 10 and sit behind only Conference juggernauts Chicago and Miami in the standings. If the playoffs started today, they would draw the Dwight Howard-less Orlando Magic, which is almost as good as a first round bye. They have no chance of catching the Heat or Bulls, but should be entrenched into the 3rd seed by virtue of the fact they are a full four games ahead of 4th seeded Boston.

The Pistons have been, well, the Pistons. No longer in their glory days, they are getting by on the skills of Greg Monroe and the speed of Brandon Knight. But do either represent long term answers to their problems? At 24-40, the Pistons need a lot of help, and are going to have to land a stud in this year’s draft to have any chance of making an ascent to relevancy. Tonight’s game represents nothing more but a chance to further tank the season, in anticipation of possibly landing the first pick and Anthony Davis of Kentucky in the draft.

Pistons Betting Trends:

Detroit is 31-33 ATS this season and 23-26 ATS as an underdog. They are 24-17 ATS in the second half of the season and 13-19 ATS in road games.

Pacers Betting Trends:

Indiana is 32-32 ATS this season and 18-23 ATS as a favorite. They are 21-23 ATS in the second half of the season and 13-17 ATS revenging a loss against an opponent. They are 7-5 ATS after an upset loss and 16-16 ATS vs teams with losing records.
