The Oklahoma City Thunder are second in the NBA in scoring behind the Houston Rockets

Oklahoma City snapped a two-game losing streak in picking up a 111-105 overtime victory over the Dallas Mavericks as 10.5-point home favorites Thursday, while going OVER the total for the first time in five contests.  The Thunder will be looking for reserve guard Kevin Martin to score 16 or more points in this contest, as they’ve gone 14-1 when he accomplishes that task.  Oklahoma City is 3-0 ATS as a road favorite of 3.5 to 6 points, while the OVER is 2-1 in that situation.

The Thunder are 7-4 away from Chesapeake Energy Arena this season, including an even 2-2 mark versus Western Conference opponents.  Oklahoma City will be looking to avoid its first three-game losing streak on the road during regular-season play since February 2011.  The franchise has won seven of 10 in this series, including a dominating 120-98 win as 10.5-point home favorites on Nov. 28, while going OVER the posted total of 210.  Offensively, the team ranks second in the NBA in averaging 104.8 points per game, while leading all teams in hitting 84.5 percent of its shots from the charity stripe.

Houston had its five-game win streak snapped in a 122-116 setback to the San Antonio Spurs as 8.5-point road underdogs last night, while going OVER the total for the fourth time in five contests.  The Rockets are going to attract some action when looking over the pro basketball odds page, considering they’ve covered the spread in their last six games.  The team leads the league in scoring 105.7 points per game, but ranks 29th in allowing 103.1.  Houston is 2-0 ATS as a home underdog of 3.5 to 6 points this season, with both games going above the total.

The Rockets are 11-5 at the Toyota Center, including an even 4-4 mark versus conference foes.  Since the 2008 campaign, Houston has compiled a remarkable 28-4 record at this venue in the month of December, which can’t be ignored when making your NBA picks against the spread Saturday.  The squad has won four straight home games by an average of 16.2 points, as it will look for another big performance from its backcourt, with James Harden and Jeremy Lin combining to average of 36 points per game.

Sports bettors will likely back the Rockets due to their 5-1 ATS mark at home in this series, while the Thunder are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.
