NBA All Star Weekend Prop Betting: Rising Stars Challenge MVP

Blake Griffin has the second best odds (7/1) after Linsanity.
This year the game will no longer be between 1st and 2nd year players, but Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal each drafted their own teams.

The really only seems to be one logical pick for MVP, and he does happen to have the best odds. Jeremy Lin, aka Linsanity aka The Yellow Mamba, is at 5/1. He’s been playing incredible and the fans have gone bonkers in every arena for the Chinese American star. From California, Lin attended Harvard, where there are no athletic scholarships. He was at one time considered more brain than brawn, but after scoring 38 against the Lakers and Kobe Bryant he went from good to great, and though it is early to hail him as the Knicks franchise savior, he has led them to 7 wins in 8 games, and made any worries about Baron Davis evaporate into an air of Krispy Kreme grease.

Blake Griffin offers legit value at 7/1, since he is going to throw down a lot of amazing dunks, to be sure. Also Griffin has the ability to go for a monster scoring night with Ricky Rubio and Lin feeding him the ball. What further will enable a monster game, is that after Lin and Kemba Walker get up their shots, the other players are all complimentary type players that don’t take away a lot of shots.

Kyrie Irving is at 17/2 and is the best bet from Team Chuck. DeMarcus Cousins (10/1) has the potential to put up a monster game as well, because he is the best big man in this game. Cousins has developed into one of the league’s better offensive centers and does command double teams. Irving, though, is the threat here as he can easily to to the hole, and Team Shaq has no shot blockers at all.
