San Francisco has won three games in a row, including a 8-4 victory over Los Angeles as +161 road underdogs Friday, while going OVER the betting total for the fourth time in five opportunities to start the season.  The Giants will face division opponents in their first 22 games this season, which is important to consider due to the franchise’s 44-32 record versus NL West competition a season ago.  San Francisco is 2-0 on the road with a money line of -100 to -125 this season.

Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner (0-0, 0.00 ERA) tossed just four innings in allowing four unearned runs on six hits in his season debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, with the club picking up a 9-8 come-from-behind victory.  The left-hander has logged a 8-3 record and 2.58 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) in this series, including a 3-1 mark and 1.93 ERA in four appearances in 2013.

Los Angeles was just 8-11 against San Francisco in 2013, but it still managed to win the division by 11 games.  The Dodgers are expected to have outfielder Yasiel Puig back in the lineup after being benched for the team’s home opener due to being late to the ballpark yesterday afternoon.  He is 5 for 20 with four RBIs on the young season, but the franchise has depth at the position with the return of Matt Kemp.  Los Angeles is 13-8 as home underdogs of +100 to +125 the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 12-9 in that situation.

Dodgers starting pitcher Paul Maholm (0-0, 0.00 ERA) struck out the only batter he faced on March 23 in Sydney, Australia, as he was signed by the club as a free agent on Feb. 8.  The left-hander has registered a 4.28 ERA in 243 career games with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves.  In 10 lifetime outings versus the Giants, Maholm has gone 2-3 with a 4.06 ERA.

Sports bettors will likely back the Dodgers due to their 4-1 mark in their last five games as home underdogs.
