Los Angeles has won seven of its last 10 games, including a 2-0 victory over Kansas City as -150 road favorites Tuesday, while going UNDER the betting total for the third time in four contests.  The Dodgers will likely play without the services of shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who has been dealing with a right shoulder injury.  It’s important to point out that the club is just 1-4 all-time at this ballpark.  Los Angeles is 5-4 as road underdogs of +100 to +125, with the UNDER going 6-3 in that situation.

Dodgers starting pitcher Dan Haren (7-4, 3.62 ERA) didn’t earn a decision in a 6-5 road defeat to the San Diego Padres last time out, as he allowed three runs and five hits over 5.2 innings of work.  The right-hander is 4-3 with a 3.80 ERA in eight road appearances, with opposing hitters batting .279 against him.  Haren has compiled a perfect 4-0 record and 2.45 ERA in seven starts at this venue.

Kansas City has scored just 13 runs in dropping five of its last six games, while it has fallen below the betting total in three of those affairs.  The Royals will be led offensively by Omar Infante, who is batting .150 in his last six games played, but he’s gone 10 for 18 with a double in his career versus Haren.  Kansas city is 11-6 as home favorites of -125 to -150, with the UNDER going 10-7 in those 17 affairs.

Royals starting pitcher James Shields (8-3, 3.70 ERA) has led the club to wins in eight of his last nine trips to the mound, but he didn’t earn a decision in a 7-5 setback at home to the Seattle Mariners last time out.  The right-hander is 3-2 with a 3.79 ERA in six home outings, with opposing hitters batting .288 against him.  Shields is a Southern California native, as he prepares to face the Dodgers for the first time in his career.

Sports bettors will likely back the Dodgers due to their 6-4 mark versus AL opponents this season.
