Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace is off to a great start in 2014
Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace is off to a great start in 2014

Louisiana has split its first two games of the season, as it looks to bounce back from a 48-20 defeat to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as 16-point home favorites last Saturday, as it was out-gained by a 118-yard margin.  The Ragin’ Cajuns will need a major performance from quarterback Terrance Broadway to stay within this number, which is important to consider when looking over the college football odds, as he’s just 21 yards shy of becoming the fourth player in school history to accumulate 7,000 yards in total offense.  Louisiana is 4-5 SU and 5-4 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are 0-37 in games played against Southeastern Conference opponents, which is important to consider when making your Week 3 college football picks.  Louisiana was the unanimous choice to repeat as champions when the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll was released in July, as it was coming off a 9-4 season and clinched its second league title overall.  Broadway should be well protect throughout the year, as he plays behind an offensive line that entered 2014 with 91 combined starts.

Ole Miss is looking to start 3-0 for the second straight year, which is likely to happen when you consider it has put together a 28-1-2 all-time mark against current members of the Sun Belt.  The Rebels defense ranks fifth nationally and second in the SEC in allowing just 8.0 points per game, which has been helped by tallying five interceptions.  Offensively, the unit sits behind just six teams in the country in averaging 377.0 passing yards per game, with senior quarterback Bo Wallace starting off in fine fashion.  Ole Miss is 9-2 ATS in non-conference games the last two-plus seasons.

The Rebels have a major weapon for Wallace to target in the passing game with junior Cody Core, as he’s caught three touchdowns in his new role as a slot receiver.  Ole Miss is 94-31-3 all-time in September home games, including a 69-18-2 mark when playing in Oxford.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 6-0 in the Ragin’ Cajuns last six games in September.
