The Butler Bulldogs have trailed at halftime in 11 of their 15 games

Butler will square off against a team sitting atop the Horizon League standings Friday night inside the Nutter Center in Dayton, OH.  The Bulldogs have won three consecutive games for the first time this season, coming off a 54-50 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee as four-point home favorites.  Total players will find that the program has gone ‘under’ the total in three of its last four games.  The team has trailed at halftime in 11 of 15 games this season.  Butler is 16-25 ATS against conference foes the last two-plus years.

The Bulldogs lead this particular series, 24-16, winning eight of the past nine meetings.  Butler tallied a 71-63 victory as eight-point home favorites in the last matchup, but fell on this particular court by five points on Jan. 16, 2011.  The team has really struggled to score this year, as not one of the five starters from its last contest came in averaging double-figures in scoring.  Sophomore center Andrew Smith leads the way in averaging 9.8 points per game.

Wright State has won four consecutive games and picked up a two-game sweep in its recent road trip, as the team has covered its last four contests.  The Raiders played a very challenging non-conference schedule, facing off against the likes of Cincinnati, Florida and Ohio State.  The program hasn’t had a losing record since 2005-06, which signifies that other league members should be on the lookout for this squad down the stretch.  Wright State is 0-5 ATS versus good defensive teams that allow 64 points or less after the 15-game mark of the season.

The Raiders have been very pleased in how their youthful roster has responded during league play after taking on some of college basketball’s best teams.  Wright State is led offensively by junior guard Julius Mays, who is averaging 12.1 points, but has been a bit banged up from the start of the year.  He has been battling back and elbow injuries from a fall that occurred during the Dec. 20th contest against the Idaho Vandals.

Bettors will likely back the Raiders due to their 8-2 ATS mark when playing at home in this series, while the Bulldogs are 2-9-2 ATS in their last 13 games.
