Phoenix

The Suns still sit a game above .500, which would make them a Playoff team in the East. Well, that’s nice, because Steve Nash may be headed East. The Two time MVP and league leader in assists is an UFA at the end of the season, but it really seems his heart is in Phoenix. He said he is taking a “wait and see” attitude, with regards to the Suns improving their chances in the off season.

Markieff Morris has been a pleasant surprise, but they’re going to need more than that to get anywhere any time soon. Robin Lopez is a bust. Jared Dudley is a role player. Grant Hill is ancient. There’s just not much going in in Phoenix, and Nash would be bat crap crazy to remain in Phoenix, but winning a title doesn’t appear to be a priority to the Canadian.

Suns Betting Trends:

The Suns are 28-24 ATS this season and 17-16 ATS as an underdog. They are 65-40 ATS the last three seasons in the second half of the year and 13-13 ATS on the road this season. They are 20-12 ATS in the second half of this season.

Utah

The Jazz sit only a game behind the Houston Rockets for the 8th seed in the West, but do they have any chance if they face the OKC Thunder in the first round? Of course they don’t.

Paul Millsap has been a legit force, and is ranked 6th in Fantasy basketball. Al Jefferson has returned to prominence and Devin Harris has been, well, Devin Harris — low field goal percentage, few assists, and too many turnovers.

They’re still pegging a lot of hopes on Derrick Favors, which also makes no sense, as he has shown few flashes to suggest he will be anything more than a replacement level starter in the NBA. The worst part for the Jazz is that they’ll be picking in the middle of the first round in June, and while the draft is loaded, they are going to miss out on the premier players, quite obviously.

Jazz Betting Trends:

The Jazz are 27-26 ATS this season and 17-17 ATS in the second half o the year and 13-14 ATS vs teams with winning records, They are 0-2 ATS when the total is between 200 and 204.5
