Titans Jaguars NFL Preview
Tennessee RB Chris Johnson will have some help if QB Kerry Collins & WR Kenny Britt return

The race for the AFC South division title remains wide open following a 36-14 home loss for Indianapolis last Sunday night.  The Colts looked average at best, leaving the door wide open for the Tennessee Titans (5-6) and Jacksonville Jaguars (6-5) as they meet in Nashville on Sunday.

The Titans (-3) won 30-3 at Jacksonville back in Week 6 behind quarterback Kerry Collins, who relieved starter Vince Yong after he left the game with a sprained knee.  Collins completed 11 of 16 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown in the last meeting with the Jaguars, but he has missed the last two games with a calf injury after seeing limited action in the previous two.

Collins is still listed as questionable for the rematch but hopes to play along with wide receiver Kenny Britt, who has not made a catch in the last four games due to a hamstring injury.  Britt suffered the injury after making seven catches for a career-high 225 yards – including three touchdowns – in a 37-19 home win over Philadelphia in Week 7.

While Tennessee is looking to end a four-game losing streak, Jacksonville seemed to be heading in that direction before turning things around with a 35-17 victory at Dallas in Week 8.  Quarterback David Garrard threw four touchdowns and no interceptions against the Cowboys and followed that up by throwing for 342 yards and two more scores without a pick in a 31-24 home win against Houston in Week 10 following the team’s bye.

Garrard was knocked out of the last meeting with the Titans after completing 7 of 12 passes for 49 yards with an interception, replaced by backup Trent Edwards who threw another couple picks.  Running back Maurice Jones-Drew was also held in check by Tennessee, totaling just 57 yards on the ground.  Since then, Jones-Drew has rushed for 100 yards or more four times in five games.

The Titans hope leading rusher Chris Johnson can get back on track after finishing with a career-low five yards on seven carries in a 20-0 loss at Houston last week.  Johnson rushed for 111 yards on 26 attempts and scored a touchdown in the last meeting.

Tennessee has won four of the last five meetings with Jacksonville both straight-up and against the spread.  The UNDER is 4-1 in the last five meetings between the teams, although the OVER has cashed in the last five games overall for the Jaguars.
