The Brown’s offensive center and Pro Bowler LeCharles Bentley, who was a huge free agent signing this summer by Cleveland, suffered a season-ending knee injury in 11-on-11 drills on Thursday on a play where he blocked nose tackle Ted Washington. That leaves a big hole for coach Romeo Crennel to fill. Cleveland– 6 and 10 this year? Maybe, maybe not, but either way that under 6.5 +135 Season Wins line at Pinnacle is looking pretty juicy right now.

Just 4 days after Floyd Landis shocked the world and came back to win the tour de france, Landis has been suspended by his cycling team for testing positive for high levels of testosterone.  Landis has stated that he is not guilty and hopes that the public will wait to see the results of the B test before the public starts to assume his guilty.

Lots of interesting news out of the SEC day 2. Ole Miss who opens up the season September 2nd against Memphis is now uncertain if starting QB Tennessee transfer Brent Schaeffer will be able to start the season opener or even be on campus when the team opens up practice on August 3rd. Schaeffer is the only player on the Rebels roster to take a snap at QB and is a must if Ole Miss hopes to have a shot at a bowl game this season.

It has been reported that CEO David Carruthers who was detained early last week by US authorities has now been let go by BetonSports management.  Wow talk about a raw deal for Carruthers.  From all accounts it looks like BOS has basically left Carruthers hung out to dry.  He is still sitting in a Texas jail awaiting to be moved to the state of Missouri for a hearing.
