Arizona State will attempt to bounce back from its first loss of the season, as it dropped a 62-27 decision to the UCLA Bruins as three-point home underdogs last Thursday, but it did win the statistical battle by 46 yards.  The Sun Devils were led by backup quarterback Mike Bercovici, as he set school records for completions and attempts in going 42-for-68 with 488 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  It’s important to point out that the school has outscored opponents by a 341-152 margin in the first quarter during the Todd Graham era, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 6 college football betting picks.  Arizona State is 1-6 SU and 1-5-1 ATS as underdogs since 2012, with the OVER going 4-3 in that situation.

The Sun Devils haven’t won a game at the Los Angeles Coliseum since 1999, which is important to consider when looking over the college football odds page.  Bercovici should feel right at home in Southern California, as he’s a native of Calabasas in Los Angeles County and should be supported by family and friends.  He’ll also have the ability to hand the ball off to D.J. Foster, who averages a Pac 12 Conference-best 135 rushing yards per game.

USC is 3-1 SUATS through four games of he 2014 campaign, as it comes off a 35-10 blowout victory over the Oregon State Beavers as 7.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total of 56.5.  The Trojans have played well offensively in their first year under head coach Steve Sarkisian, especially quarterback Cody Kessler, who has completed 72 percent of his passes and not thrown an interception.  USC is 6-5 SU and 5-6 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 10 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Trojans also have the ability to run the football, as they gained 200 rushing yards against the Beavers after being held to a season-low 20 in their previous affair on the road against Boston College.  USC will look to get the ball in the hands of Javorious Allen, who ranks third in the conference in averaging 108.3 rushing yards.

Sports bettors will likely back the Sun Devils due to their 5-1 ATS mark in the last six meetings in this series.
