Maryland improved to 3-1 on the year after tallying a 34-20 victory over the Syracuse Orange as 1.5-point road underdogs last Saturday, but it has been out-gained by 467 combined yards in its last two affairs.  The Terrapins are led by quarterback C.J. Brown offensively, which is important to consider when making your Week 5 college football predictions, as he accounted for 305 yards of total offense.  He ranks fifth in program history with a career total of 5,323 yards.  Maryland is 0-6 ATS in its last six games following a SU win.

The Terrapins will need defensive linemen Andre Monroe to get after the quarterback in this matchup, as he ranks tied for 10th all-time with 17.5 career sacks, while his 0.66 sacks per game total is the second-highest of its kind among active players nationally.  Maryland has the ability to win games late due to kicker Brad Craddock, who sits behind just four players on the school’s all-time list with 38 career field goals.

Indiana is coming off a 31-27 upset win over the Missouri Tigers as 14-point road underdogs last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total for the second time in three contests.  The Hoosiers may suffer a bit of a letdown in this affair, as that victory served as its first win over a top 20 team since 2006, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page.  Defensively, the team did just enough last time out, as he held an opponent down for the most part after it came in averaging 41.7 points on the season.  Indiana is 0-6 ATS in its last six games following a SU win.

The Hoosiers have one of the more dynamic players in the country in running back Tevin Coleman, who has recorded five consecutive 100-yard games, as he comes off a 132-yard performance versus the Tigers.  Indiana is also capable of moving the ball through the air, with junior Nate Sudfeld ranking ninth on the school’s all-time passing yardage list with 3,865 yards.

Sports bettors will likely back the Hoosiers due to their 8-1 ATS mark in their last nine home games versus teams with a winning road record.
