Georgia returns to the field for the first time since picking up a 45-21 win over the Clemson Tigers as 10-point home favorites on Aug. 30, while going OVER the betting total of 55.5.  For the ninth time in this series, both teams are ranked in the top 25, with the Bulldogs dropping five of those affairs.  Senior quarterback Hutson Mason completed 18 of 26 passes for 131 yards against the Tigers, which is important to consider when making your Week 3 college football predictions.  Georgia is 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 10 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Bulldogs have some of the best running backs in the country, with the group being led by junior Todd Gurley, who ran for 198 yards on 15 carries in the season opener.  Georgia had to replace three starters on the offensive line, but that group paved the way for 328 yards on the ground against a talented Clemson defensive line.  On the other side of the ball, the school has become much more aggressive under first-year defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, as it registered five sacks.

South Carolina evened its record at 1-1 after picking up a 33-23 victory over the East Carolina Pirates as 14-point home favorites, while going UNDER the betting total of 65.  The Gamecocks are 17-47-2 all-time against the Bulldogs, but four of those wins have come in Steve Spurrier’s nine seasons in Columbia.  His teams have scored 30 or more points in 13 of 21 games when facing off against Georgia.  South Carolina is 3-3 SU and 4-2 ATS as underdogs since 2012, with the OVER going 4-2 in that situation.

The Gamecocks have held the Bulldogs to 20 or fewer points in their last nine meetings at Williams-Brice Stadium, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football lines.  South Carolina is 35-4 SU in its last 39 home games, but its 18-game home winning streak came to an end in its season opener against Texas A&M.

Sports bettors will likely back the Gamecocks due to the Bulldogs being 3-4 ATS as road favorites since 2012.
