Michigan State has won six games in a row, including a 41-28 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers as 5.5-point road favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total for the first time in four contests.  The Spartans have clinched a share of the Big Ten Legends Division title, which is important to consider when making your college football predictions in Week 13.  The 2013 senior class won its 38th game since 2010 to become the winningest senior class in the 117th-year history of the program.  Michigan State is 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS as road favorites the last two-plus seasons.

The Spartans are 3-1 on the road during the 2013 campaign, with their only loss coming against Notre Dame on Sept. 21.  “We’ve been good away from home,” commented Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio.  “We’ve come together.”  Michigan State has won its last four visits to Northwestern, but suffered a 23-20 home defeat in last year’s meeting.  Dantonio now has four nine-win seasons during his time in East Lansing, which is the most by any coach in school history.

Northwestern is mired in a six-game losing streak, which includes a 27-19 triple-overtime loss to the Michigan Wolverines as 2.5-point home favorites in Week 12, while going UNDER the betting total for a fifth consecutive contest.  The Wildcats have held five of their six Big Ten opponents to under their points per game average, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page Saturday afternoon.  Northwestern is 7-4 SU and 9-2 ATS as a home underdog of 7.5 to 10 points in its last 11 opportunities.

The Wildcats recorded a season-high 14.0 tackles for loss against the Wolverines, while they’ve intercepted a pass in 12 o their last 14 contests dating back to the 2012 campaign.  Northwestern has a major weapon in placekicker Jeff Budzien, who has 43 career field goals in 50 attempts, which includes hitting 18-of-20 tries this season.

Sports bettors will likely back the Wildcats due to their 6-3 ATS mark in November the last two-plus seasons.
