Stanford Cardinal RB Stepfan Taylor is just 53 yards away from his third consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season

Oregon State is set to play its final regular season road of the year, as it comes off a 36-26 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils as 3.5-point home favorites, while going OVER the total for the first time in three contests.  The Beavers have elected to go with Cody Vaz over Sean Mannion under center, which is an important factor to handicap when making your college football predictions this weekend.  “It’s always a difficult thing to choose between two good players,” stated Beavers head coach Mike Riley.  Oregon State is 3-0 ATS as an underdog of 3.5 to 10 points this year.

The Beavers have lost two of the last three meetings in this series, including last year’s 38-13 setback as 20.5-point home underdogs, as they were out-gained by a 507-285 margin.  Oregon State enters Saturday with the fifth-most difficult schedule in the nation per the Sagarin Rankings in USA Today.  The team ranks second in the Pac-12 Conference in allowing just 18.1 points per game, while they sit second in allowing opponents to convert on just 24.1 percent of their third-down opportunities.

Stanford has won seven straight home games and 18 of its last 19 in that situation, as the senior class owns a 23-2 record at Stanford Stadium since 2009.  The Cardinal rank first in the country in allowing just 55.6 rushing yards per game, which has been spurned by recording three of their top 10 single-game rushing defensive performances in school history the last three weeks.  Stanford is 8-4 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points the last two-plus campaigns.

The Cardinal will certainly look to get running back Stepfan Taylor going, as he’s just 53 yards away from his third consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season, which would be a first in school history.  Stanford rushed 48 times for 300 yards in last year’s meeting with Oregon State.  Taylor’s 3,717 yards career rushing currently ranks sixth among active rushers in the NCAA.

Sports bettors will likely back the Beavers due to their 18-7-1 ATS mark on the road, while the Cardinal are 0-2 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 10 points this year.
