Navy snapped a two-game losing streak in picking up a 24-21 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers as four-point home underdogs last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total for the fifth time in six contests.  The Midshipmen are averaging 28.9 points per game, while their rushing attack is gaining 292.1 yards per contests, which is important to consider when making your college football predictions in Week 10.  Navy is 6-10 SU and 9-7 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 9-7 in that situation.

The Midshipmen are known for winning games that are close in the final moments, as they’ve captured seven of their last eight contests decided by eight points or less.  Navy has scored a touchdown on 39 percent of its drives this year, including 43.3 with Keenan Reynolds under center.  The program has outscored the opposition 38-9 in the first quarter during the 2013 campaign, with the defense not giving up a first-quarter touchdown all season.

Notre Dame has won and covered the number in its last three games, including a 45-10 victory over the Air Force Falcons as 19.5-point road favorites last Saturday, but it has won the statistical battle in just four of its last five affairs.  The Fighting Irish are led by quarterback Tommy Rees offensively, as he’s completed 12 passes of at least 32 yards this season—surpassing the total of 11 in that category in 2012.  He ranks fourth in school history in career completions and attempts.  Notre Dame is 13-3 SU and 6-9-1 ATS at home the last two-plus seasons.

The Fighting Irish have allowed an average of 18.53 points per game over the last four seasons, which ranks seventh-best among BCS schools.  Notre Dame has lost just one time in 30 games under Brian Kelly when holding an opponent to 20 or fewer points, while he’s compiled a 72-1 record in its last 73 contests when pulling off that feat.

Sports bettors will likely back the Fighting Irish due to their 3-1-1 ATS mark in their last five games.
