The LSU Tigers are 6-2 and riding a two-game win streak. College basketball oddsmakers at Bovada find the Tigers to be 3.5 point favorites on the road at Texas Tech, in a game which will be televised on ESPN U.

The Tigers scored a big victory on Dec 1 when the squad defeated Butler 70-68 in overtime. Johnny O’Bryant III had a team high 17 points in 40 minutes of play, connecting on 8-of-14 from the floor, and the Tigers also got 12 points from four others. Andre Stringer was a curious non-factor, attempting just four shots. Stringer is third on the Tigers in scoring this season with 13.1 points per game.

O’Bryant is a strong 6’9′ junior forward and he leads the team in rebounding with 9.5 per game, up from his 8.7 his sophomore season. He’s posting 14.9 points per game on 53.3 percent shooting from the floor, but he needs to work on his free throws where he shoots just 58 percent. O’Bryant is a defensive playmaker, and he averages 1.8 blocks+steals per game.

Texas Tech has won three of its last four games, with the last loss having been a 79-58 loss to then-No. 2 Arizona on Dec 3. The last outing the team defeated Central Arkansas 79-57. Jaye Crockett, Jordan Tolbert and Robert Turner all combine to average 36.5 points per game, which is approximately half of the Red Raiders offense. Crockett leads the way with 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, and the 6’7″ senior is having his finest NCAA season.
