The UCLA Bruins are 6-5 SU all-time against the Utah Utes

Utah has won three games in a row, including a 79-71 victory over the USC Trojans as 4.5-point road favorites Thursday, while going OVER the betting total for the fourth consecutive contest.  The Utes’ seven losses have come by a total of 26 points, which is important to consider when making your college basketball predictions.  Offensively, the team is third nationally in shooting 50.2 percent from the field, while it leads the Pac-12 and ranks 17th in the country in defending the three-point area.  Utah is 1-7 SU and 4-4 ATS as underdogs of 9.5 to 12 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Utes have three probable starters averaging in double figures, with junior guard Delon Wright leading the way at 16.2 points a contest.  Utah is 4-6 SU against the RPI top 100 with the wins coming by a combined 42 points, and its six losses are by a combined 23 points.  The program ranks in the top-20 nationally in assists per game, fouls per game and assist-to-turnover ratio.

UCLA has won and covered the number in five of its last six games, including a 92-74 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes Thursday, while going OVER the betting total in each of those affairs.  The Bruins are 10th in the country and second in the Pac-12 in averaging 82.9 points per game, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Sophomore forward Kyle Anderson is the main player to watch on the offensive end, as he’s averaging 15.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.8 assists.  UCLA is 7-2 SU and 5-4 ATS as home favorites of 9.5 to 12 points.

The Bruins are one of just nine teams nationally to rank in the top-30 in both adjusted offense and adjusted defense—making them a squad to keep an eye on in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.  UCLA is 6-5 SU in this series, but it dropped a 74-69 decision as a pick’ em in the first meeting of the season on Jan. 18.

Sports bettors will likely back the Utes due to their 5-2 ATS mark in their last seven road games.
