Purdue hits the road for the first time during the 2013-14 season, as it won its first five games of the year on its home floor, including an 81-73 victory over the Siena Saints as 18.5-point home favorites Sunday.  The Boilermakers are averaging 86.2 points per game to rank third in the Big Ten Conference, while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, which is important to consider when making your college basketball predictions Thursday afternoon.  Purdue is 4-8 SUATS on a neutral floor the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 7-5 in that situation.

The Boilermakers have three players averaging in double figures, with sophomore guard Ronnie Johnson leading the way, while center A.J. Hammons controls the other side of the floor in averaging 4.5 blocks per game.  Purdue enters the contest with a 19-76 record all-time against ranked opponents, including a 1-15 mark versus teams sitting in the No. 5 spot.  The bench has been a major contributor in the early going in averaging 37.0 points per game.

Oklahoma State has arguably been the most impressive team in the country in the early going this year, as it opens play in the Old Spice Classic at the HP Field House in Kissimmee, FL.  The Cowboys are averaging just over 100 points per game with five players averaging in double figures.  All eyes will be on guard Marcus Smart, who is averaging 21.0 points per game, while backcourt mate Markel Brown is shooting 51.7 percent from beyond the arc.  Oklahoma State is 20-14 ATS as a favorite the last two-plus seasons.

The Cowboys are 65-74 all-time against current members of the Big Ten Conference, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball lines on Thanksgiving Day.  Oklahoma State also has one of the best players off the bench nationally, with Phil Forte averaging 14.8 points per game.  He’s shooting a ridiculous 64.7 percent from the floor.

Sports bettors will likely back the Cowboys due to their 9-3-1 ATS mark in their last 13 non-conference games.
