The Mississippi Rebels are 5-0 SUATS as road underdogs of three or fewer points since 2011-12

Mississippi is off to a perfect 6-0 start to begin the 2013-14 campaign, as it claimed the Barclays Center Classic championship with a pair of wins over ACC-foe Georgia Tech and Big Ten-foe Penn State.  The Rebels are 3-0 SU all-time against the Wildcats, which is important to consider when making your college basketball predictions Thursday night.  The team ranks fourth in the nation in averaging 8.3 blocks a game, with forward Aaron Jones leading the way in that category at 3.0.  Mississippi is 5-0 SUATS as road underdogs of three or fewer points the last two-plus seasons.

The Rebels have three players among the SEC’s active career leaders, with guard Marshall Henderson ranking sixth with 798 points, while guard Jarvis Summers has 265 assists.  Jones is tied for fourth among active players with 70 career blocks.  Mississippi is 16-17 SU all-time versus current members of the Big 12 Conference, with 14 of those affairs coming against the Texas Longhorns.

Kansas State is riding its second two-game winning streak of the season, as the program continues to rely heavily on a defense that paces the Big 12 in allowing just 61.2 points a game.  The Wildcats are a dominating 61-3 SU at home versus non-conference foes since 2006-07, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page, especially since they’ve won 50 of their last 51 in that situation.  Kansas State is 2-0 SUATS versus SEC foes the last two-plus seasons.

The Wildcats have two players averaging double figures, with freshman guard Marcus Foster scoring 13.9 points a contest.  His 97 points are the most by a freshman in his first seven games since Michael Beasley.  Kansas State has three freshmen who have accounted for an average of 25.3 points a game on 38.8 percent shooting.

Sports bettors will likely back the Rebels due to their 4-0 ATS mark on the road, while the Wildcats are 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games versus non-conference opponents.
