The Creighton Blue Jays have struggled against ranked opponents historically

Creighton had its 10-game winning streak snapped last time out, as it suffered a 81-68 setback to the Providence Friars as four-point road favorites, while going OVER the betting total for a third consecutive contest.  The Blue Jays are led by five-time Big East Conference Player of the Week Doug McDermott, who is averaging 24.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, which is important to consider when making your college basketball predictions.  Creighton is 4-4 SUATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 6-1 in that situation.

The Bluejays are 18-118 SU all-time against ranked opponents, including 25 consecutive defeats when playing a true road game in that situation, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Creighton has compiled a solid 33-12 SU record when playing away from home the last three years.  Offensively, the team is leading the nation in shooting 42.4 percent from beyond the arc, while it averages 10.83 makes per game from that area.

Villanova has won five games in a row, including a 88-62 victory over the DePaul Blue Demons as 17-point home favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total for the seventh consecutive affair.  The Wildcats have three probable starters averaging in double figures, with forward JayVaughn Pinkston leading the way at 15.6 points a contest.  It’s important to point out that the program is 39-10 SU when scoring 70 or more points over the last two-plus seasons.  Villanova is 30-5 SU and 22-12 ATS as a favorite since the start of the 2011-12 campaign.

The Wildcats have outscored their opponents by an average of 16.1 points over their last 10 games, with the bench accounting for 13.2 points of that disparity.  Villanova hasn’t allowed an opponent to convert more than 50 percent of its field goal attempts since Nov. 16, 2012—a stretch of 47 consecutive games.  Pinkston enters this affair with 1,026 career points.

Sports bettors will likely back the Wildcats due to their 4-0 ATS mark in their last four Big East Conference games.
