The UNLV Runnin' Rebels are tied atop the Mountain West Conference standings with the San Diego State Aztecs

UNLV is enjoying its best start of a season since the 1991-92 campaign and comes off a convincing 82-63 win over the Colorado State Rams as 14-point home favorites.  The Runnin’ Rebels are currently in a first-place tie with the San Diego State Aztecs in the Mountain West Conference standings.  Offensively, the team is one of the highest-scoring in the nation, averaging 80.6 points per game.  It will be tested against one of the conference’s best defenses.  UNLV is 1-6 ATS on the road this season.

The Runnin’ Rebels have three players that are averaging in double figures, with Mike Moser leading the way in pouring in 14.7 points a contest.  He is averaging a double-double and is third in the country in grabbing 11.6 rebounds per game.  UNLV is second in the country in scoring 1,935 points on the season, while ranking third in dishing out 18.7 assists per game.  Saturday’s game will mark the 43rd meeting between these two programs, with the Runnin’ Rebels holding a 28-14 advantage.

Wyoming has alternated wins and losses over its last four games, looking to bounce back from a disappointing 58-52 loss to the TCU Horned Frogs as four-point road favorites.  The Cowboys have gone “under” the total in three of their last four games.  Three starters are currently averaging double figures in scoring, with junior Leonard Washington leading the way in scoring 13.1 points per game.  Wyoming is 7-3 ATS at home this season, while the “under” is 7-3 in those contests.

The Cowboys have lost their last four games in this series, but have managed to cover the spread in the last three.  Wyoming leads conference teams in allowing just 53.8 points per game, while sitting third in outscoring opponents by 11.7 points per game.  First-year head coach Larry Shyatt has really done a great job in leading the program in the right direction, holding opponents to just 39.6 percent shooting from the floor.  It’s still important to note that the team has lost 19 consecutive games versus ranked teams.

Bettors will likely back the Cowboys due to their 17-7-1 ATS mark at home, while the Runnin’ Rebels are 0-4 ATS as a road favorite.
