The Los Angeles Lakers are 7-0 SU at home versus Western Conference teams

The Los Angeles Clippers have alternated wins and losses over their last five games, coming off a 103-91 win over the Toronto Raptors as 9.5-point home favorites.  Point guard Chris Paul missed his fifth straight game in that contest, but is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury to return in tonight’s inter-city battle.  The Clippers captured a 102-94 win over the Lakers in their first meeting this year, with Paul scoring 33 points, which also served as the last time he’s been seen on the court.  Los Angeles is 7-4 ATS in January.

The Clippers received a huge performance from guard Mo Williams versus the Raptors, exploding for 26 points, including 21 in the second half.  He has managed to average 25.6 points and 3.7 assists over his last three games.  Los Angeles may be considered the road team Wednesday night, but the franchise has tallied an 8-2 mark inside the Staples Center when playing at home this season.  Offensively, the team is averaging nearly seven points per game more at home than on the road.  Power forward Blake Griffin is still a player to focus in on, joining Minnesota’s Kevin Love as the only two players in the league averaging over 21.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.

The Los Angeles Lakers enter tonight’s game on a three-game losing streak and have dropped six consecutive games versus the spread.  “There’s some bit of frustration at all levels from all of us because we’re not performing the way that we thing we should right now,” commented Lakers first-year head coach Mike Brown.  The Lakers haven’t hit the century mark in scoring in 11 straight games.  Shooting guard Kobe Bryant has been the lone offensive weapon for most of the season, leading the NBA in scoring 30.5 points per game.  Los Angeles is 1-7 ATS when playing a team with a winning record.

The Lakers have registered a solid 9-2 mark at home this season, including a perfect 7-0 record when hosting Western Conference foes.  Los Angeles is 20-4 all-time against tonight’s opponent in home games inside the Staples Center, including wins in eight straight in that particular situation.  Bryant should be ready for a solid offensive night, averaging 31.3 points over the last three seasons versus the Clippers.

Bettors will likely back the Lakers due to the home team being 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in this series, while the Clippers are 1-5 ATS on the road.
