The FBI is currently conducting an investigating regarding allegations that a veteran NBA referee affected the outcome of games. The unnamed referee is to have placed wagers on games while being a part of the officiating crew. The exploration is set to determine whether or not the referee made calls to affect the point spread in games over the last 2 seasons. The number of games this transpired in is still unknown, but reports are it could be in the double digits. The unnamed ref reportedly had a gambling problem and was approached by members of organized crime to fix games to settle his debts.

ESPN.com reports that the Portland Trailblazers will choose Greg Oden first in this year’s NBA draft. The choice was between Ohio State freshman star center Oden and freshman small forward Kevin Durant from the Texas Longhorns. Durant won just about every college award possible prior to declaring for the draft.

Detroit point guard, Chauncey Billups has exercised the opt out clause in his contract, which means he has terminated his contract with the Pistons a year early. This year, Billups played in 70 games, averaging 17.0 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 7.2 APG and 1.2 SPG. He shot 43% from the floor, 35% from downtown and 88% from the free throw line. The 30 year old has played 10 seasons in the NBA, playing for Boston, Toronto, Denver, Minnesota and Detroit. He’s been a member of the Pistons since the 2002- 2003 season.
