Georgetown Hoyas guard Jason Clark will be playing his final game inside the Verizon Center on Monday night

Notre Dame will conclude a two-game road swing and look to bounce back from a 61-58 loss to the St. John’s Red Storm as six-point road favorites on Saturday.  The Fighting Irish had their nine-game Big East Conference win streak snapped in that defeat, managing to hit just 4-of-31 shots from beyond the arc.  “The law of averages catches up with you a little bit,” commented Fighting Irish head coach Mike Brey.  Monday’s game will be the 28th meeting in this series, as the program looks to even up the series at 14 wins apiece.  Notre Dame is 3-1 ATS as a road underdog of 6.5 to 9 points, while the “under” is 4-0 in that situation.

The Fighting Irish have three players that average in double figures, with guards Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant leading the way in scoring 12.7 points per game.  Senior guard Scott Martin served as the team’s offensive spark plug in defeat last time out, scoring 18 points, but missing all four of his shot attempts from downtown.  Defensively, the team has allowed opponents to shoot just 38.4 percent from the field over the last 10 games, including just 26 percent from beyond the arc.

Georgetown has won three of its last four games and comes off a 67-46 win over the Villanova Wildcats as 10-point home favorites.  The Hoyas have alternated covering the spread over their past five games.  This particular contest will serve as the program’s last regular-season games inside the Verizon Center, as it will honor guard Jason Clark and center Henry Sims.  Clark has reached the 1,000-point mark for his career earlier this season, coming in leading the team in averaging 14.5 points per game.  Notre Dame is 7-9 ATS versus conference opponents and the “over” is 9-7 in that situation.

The Hoyas will be leaning heavily on their senior duo in this affair, with Sims reaching double figures in scoring for the 17th time last time out, finishing with 12 points and six rebounds.  He is third on the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game, while sitting second in grabbing 5.5 rebounds per game.  Georgetown definitely gets after it defensively, ranking second among Big East teams in allowing 58.7 points per game.

Bettors will likely back the Hoyas due to the home team being 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings, while the Fighting Irish are 3-11-2 ATS when playing on Monday.
