The Florida State Seminoles have begun to make their case as potentially the best team in the nation, following the 41-14 trouncing of then-No. 7 Miami (FL) last week. Two weeks prior, the Seminoles knocked off the Clemson Tigers in equally dominant fashion, winning 51-14 on the road.

This week, the Seminoles won’t be tested quite as hard, playing one of the cellar dwellers of the ACC in the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. College football oddsmaker at 5dimes set the line 35 points in favor of the 8-0 Seminoles, who have faced their toughest opponents already. The team will conclude with games against Syracuse, Idaho and Florida.

Jameis Winston has had a sensational season. The Seminole QB has 2,502 yards with a 70.3 percent completion ratio and he’s rushed for 153 yards on the season with three rushing TDs. He’s thrown just six interceptions with 24 TDs and has a QB rating over 200. His case for the Heisman is strong.

Devonta Freeman and Karlos Williams have both been very efficient and effective backs for the Seminoles, too. Williams has rushed for 8.1 yards per carry and has seven TDs while Freeman leads the team in yardage (639) and has eight TDs. Winston has a talented quartet of Seminoles receivers to air it out to, and this should be a high scoring blowout in favor of FSU once the team gets rolling.

Wake Forest has played good defense this season, but FSU is exploiting even the true elite defensive teams. The Demon Deacons have allowed just 19.9 points per game, but the problem has been getting in the end zone on offense.

Despite having a reasonably passable offense which generates 311 yards per game, the team scores just 19.4 points per contest. Tanner Price has been decent, with 1,951 yards and a 56.2 percent completion ratio. But none of the Demon Deacons’ backfield is producing, and Josh Harris leads the team in yardage with 302 yards and 3.6 yards per carry.

Florida State Trends: OVER 6-0 in last 6 following ATS win; OVER 5-0-1 in last 6 after allowing 100 yards rushing in previous game; OVER 8-1 in last 9 following SU win of more than 20 points.

Wake Forest Trends: UNDER 5-0 in last 5 after accumulating less than 100 rushing yards in previous game; 0-4 ATS in last 4 in NOV; UNDER 4-0 in last 4 at home.

Head-to-head: Underdog 7-2 ATS in last 9 meetings.
