The Florida State Seminoles are coming off a blowout victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels

Maryland takes the momentum of back-to-back wins in the Atlantic Coast Conference to Tallahassee for a Tuesday night matchup on ESPNU.  The Terrapins are playing their second game in three days and tallied a 61-50 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as 1.5-point home favorites last time out.  “We’re a better team now than we were a week ago,” commented Terrapins junior forward James Padgett.  “We have more confidence going on the road now than we did at N.C. State.”  The program suffered a 79-74 loss in that particular contest as 10.5-point underdogs.  Maryland is 14-7 ATS on the road the last two-plus seasons.

The Terrapins have won nine of their last 10 games and have held their last eight opponents to 40.3 percent shooting from the floor, including a 28.9 percent mark from beyond the arc.  Sophomore guard Terrell Stoglin leads the ACC in averaging 20.9 points per game.  He has received plenty of help from senior guard Sean Mosley over the past four games, scoring in double figures in each.

Florida State is coming off a 90-57 blowout win over the North Carolina Tar Heels as six-point home underdogs Saturday and has gone ‘over’ the total in six of seven games.  “It says an awful lot for our program to get that kind of level of exposure and be successful in it,” commented Seminoles head coach Leonard Hamilton.  The Seminoles win over the third-ranked Tar Heels was their first over a ranked team this season and their fifth such victory since Dec. 25, 2010.  Florida State is 2-1 ATS as a home favorite of 9.5 to 12 points this year.

The Seminoles were led by the play of senior guard Deividas Dulkys over the past seven days, averaging 18.0 points in two victories, as he was named the ACC Player of the Week yesterday.  He scored 32 points versus the Tar Heels on 12 of 14 shooting, including knocking down 8 of 10 shots from beyond the arc.  Florida State is normally known as a defensive squad, pacing the ACC in allowing opponents to shoot just 36.1 percent from the floor.

Bettors will likely back the Seminoles due to the home team being 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings of this series, while the Terrapins are 1-5 ATS as an underdog of 7 to 12.5 points.
