The Spartans are looking to build off their recent wins over Wisconsin and Michigan, while Illinois is aiming to knock off another Big 10 powerhouse on the road. Sparty has to be careful not to take the Illini lightly – Illinois dominated Penn State in Happy Valley.

South Carolina (-7) at Kentucky – South Carolina is coming off its biggest win in school history. They opened as a 7 point road favorite at Kentucky, although books have come down to 5 points. It will be hard for South Carolina to not have a let down after their emotional game against Alabama. There’s little chance the Gamecocks can play that well two weeks in a row. Kentucky nearly knocked off Auburn last Saturday night, so they’re obviously no pushover. The last time South Carolina went on the road, they lost at Auburn.

Nebraska (-9 ½) vs. Texas– The Cornhuskers get their first stiff test of the season when they welcome the Texas Longhorns to Lincoln. The home Huskers opened as 9 ½ point favorites, but the line has bounced around going as low as 8 ½ and as high as 10, depending upon the book. Nebraska spanked Kansas State in Manhattan last week, while Texas had the bye week to prepare for the Huskers. The last time these two teams met was in last year’s Big 12 national championship game, which Texas won on a controversial, last second field goal.

Iowa (-4) at Michigan– The Iowa Hawkeyes opened as 4 point road favorites at Michigan, and the line has held mostly steady with a couple books as -3.5. The Hawks had a bye last week, which means they’ve had an extra week to prepare for Denard Robinson and Rich Rodriguez’s unique offense. The Hawkeye front 4 is extremely talented. Michigan is looking to rebound from their loss to Michigan State. It’s never easy to play in the Big House. Iowa won last year in Kinnick Stadium, but it was a close game.

Ohio State (-6) at Wisconsin– One of the best games of the weekend goes down in Madison, Wisconsin. The new #1 team started as a 6 point road favorite, and the line is trickling down to -4. Ohio State had no trouble disposing of Indiana this past Saturday. The offense was efficient and the defense was effective. Wisconsin rebounded from its loss to Michigan State by beating up on Minnesota. The Badger rush offense is starting to click.

Auburn (-2 ½) vs. Arkansas – The other big game of the weekend pits the surprising Auburn Tigers against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The home Tigers opened as 2 ½ point favorites, but the line has moved up to 4 points. Auburn snuck out of Lexington with a close win over Kentucky, thanks to Cam Newton. Arkansas had to work for it, but they managed to put away Texas A&M. There’s a good chance the Hogs will be energized by Alabama’s loss, which puts them back into the SEC West picture. If they hope to get to the SEC championship game, beating Auburn is a must.

The college football landscape has been restructured after South Carolina’s huge win over Alabama.
