Here’s a quick look at some intriguing Saturday games.

Oklahoma (-4) vs. Texas – The annual Red River Shootout takes place in Dallas, Texas on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners opened as 2 point favorites, but early sharp money has pushed the line to 4 or 4 ½ points. Texas looks to rebound from their humbling home loss to the UCLA Bruins. Oklahoma had to hold on in Cincinnati for a 2 point win. The winner of this conference match-up has an inside track to the Big 12 South crown.

Wisconsin (-1 ½) at Michigan State – The Badgers opened as 2 ½ point road favorites, but the line has come down to 1 ½ points at most books. Both teams are undefeated and coming off lopsided wins over FCS schools. This will be a physical game. The Badgers won last year’s meeting, 38-30.

Air Force (-9) vs. Navy – The best Armed Forces game of the year takes place in Colorado Springs. The home Falcons opened as 10 ½ point favorites, but some early action on the Midshipmen has brought the line down to 9 points at most books. Navy won last year’s battle, 16-13 in overtime. Both teams have one loss – Air Force lost a close game in Norman, Oklahoma, while Navy lost to Maryland on a neutral field.

Alabama (-9) vs. Florida – Once again, Alabama and Florida hook up for maybe the best football game of the year. The Crimson Tide opened as 9 point favorites and the line has held pretty steady. ‘Bama just about blew it in Arkansas, but they fought back and found a way to win. Florida had some early season problems on offense, but they seem to be hitting their stride. They pounded Kentucky last week. Alabama won last year’s meeting in the SEC Championship, 32-13.

Iowa (-7) vs. Penn State – Another Big 10 battle between two ranked opponents. The home Hawks opened as 4 ½ point favorites, but sharps have bet this up to anywhere between 6 ½ and 7 ½ points. Iowa’s shot at a national championship was likely ruined in Tucson, Arizona, while Penn State’s only loss came at Alabama, 24-3. The Hawkeyes won in Happy Valley last season, 21-10, thanks to Adrian Clayborn’s blocked punt that he returned for a touchdown.

Miami (-3) at Clemson – The ACC has a great game between two quality teams that goes down in Death Valley. Miami opened as a 3 point road favorite and the line has held mostly steady. The U got beat up at the Horseshoe, but bounced back last week at Pittsburgh with an impressive win. Clemson had the week off after blowing a big lead at Auburn, losing 27-24 in overtime. The Tigers won last year’s meeting, 40-37 in overtime.

Oregon (-7) vs. Stanford – The Pac 10 has a heavyweight bout Saturday night. The home Ducks opened as 4 ½ point favorites, but early money has moved the line to 7 points. Oregon struggled in Tempe, Arizona last Saturday night, but still won the game, 42-31 thanks to 7 ASU turnovers. The Cardinal won easily at Notre Dame. Don’t forget about this game – it should be a good one. Stanford won last year, 51-42.

To compare and view all the week 5 lines check out the college football odds page at maddux sports.

The week 5 lines have been posted for college football.
