This is a great week of NCAA football with some of the best non-conference games in the entire season. Make sure to check out our college football betting lines page or reference the table below in order to compare lines from various sportsbooks. Here’s a small sampling of some of the week’s bigger games.

Georgia Tech (-13 ½) vs. Kansas – The line opened with Georgia Tech as the 7 point road favorite, then spiked to 13 points almost immediately, but over the past few days has only risen to between 13 ½ and 14 ½ points with 13 ½ being the popular number of sportsbooks. The public is killing GT at 95%. The Ramblin’ Wreck is coming off a sound beating of a I-AA team in South Carolina State, 41-10. Kansas couldn’t handle its I-AA opponent, North Dakota State. The Bison upset the Jayhawks in Lawrence, 6-3, spoiling Turner Gill’s coaching debut at Kansas.

South Carolina (-3) vs. Georgia – This has the makings of an exciting SEC battle. The Gamecocks opened as 2 ½ point favorites and the line has moved up slightly to 3 points. The public is split on this game at about 50/50. After Florida had such a tough time putting away Miami (OH) both South Carolina and Georgia look like this is the year for a different team to come out of the SEC East. The Gamecocks are coming off a routing of Southern Miss, 41-13. Georgia ran it up on the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, 55-7. The winner of this game owns a potentially pivotal tie-breaker.

Iowa (-13 ½) vs. Iowa State – The closer this gets to game time, the closer I think this game will be. Iowa’s incredible defensive end, Adrian Clayborn made some choice comments this summer about there only being one team from the state of Iowa. That’s a bold statement considering Iowa State is 7-5 straight up against the Hawkeyes over the past 12 years. Last week the Cyclones handled a decent Northern Illinois squad, 27-10. For the Hawks, running back Jewel Hampton makes his long awaited return to the playing field. Last week Iowa throttled Eastern Illinois 37-7. The Hawkeyes opened as 13 ½ point favorites with a few books moving up to 14 points. The line has held mostly steady despite the Hawks getting played at over 80%.

California (-10) vs. Colorado – This line has seen a great deal of movement. The Golden Bears opened as a 4 point favorite and the line has steadily made its way up to 10 points at most sites. The public likes Cal at over 80%. Personally, I think Colorado has a real chance of pulling off this upset. The Buffies are coming off a huge in-state win over rival Colorado State, 24-3. The Cal Golden Bears annihilated UC Davis, dismantling the Aggies 52-3. California out-gained UC Davis, 512 to 81 yards.

Oklahoma (-7) vs. Florida State – The Stoops brothers do battle this Saturday. Bob Stoops, of course, is head coach of the Sooners. His brother Mark left Arizona to be Florida State’s defensive coordinator. Oklahoma had a tough time last week with WAC member Utah State, ultimately prevailing 31-24. Florida State had no trouble with Samford from the FCS, winning 59-6. Both teams have tremendous offenses. The Sooners opened as 10 point favorites, but the line has consistently receded with Oklahoma currently listed as 7 point favorites. The public is likely a catalyst for the line change, playing FSU at more than 4:1.

Notre Dame (-3 ½) vs. Michigan – Rich Rodriguez scored a huge win last week. With all of Michigan’s troubles over the past 2 years, things look they’re coming together in Ann Arbor. Connecticut should be a solid team this year, and Michigan owned that game. Denard Robinson was amazing. For Brian Kelly and Notre Dame, the Irish were able to run the ball effectively against Purdue. This week, look for the Irish to put the ball in the air more often considering Michigan’s depleted secondary. The Irish opened as 6 point favorites but with the public playing Michigan at almost 85% the line has come down to 3 ½ points.

Ohio State (-8 ½) vs. Miami (FL) – The Hurricanes travel to the Horseshoe in perhaps the weekend’s biggest game. Terrelle Pryor and Jacory Harris should be fun to watch. Miami must play better than they did against Wisconsin in their bowl game or they might get run out of town. Last week Ohio State took care of Marshall easily enough, winning 45-7. The Hurricanes rocked Florida A&M, an FCS school, 45-0. The loser can start thinking about something other than a national title. The Buckeyes opened as 10 point favorites and are currently favored by 8 ½ points. The public is playing Miami at 75%.

Alabama (-12) vs. Penn State – The Crimson Tide get a much tougher opponent this week. Last week, Alabama had an easy time defeating San Jose State, 48-3, even without the services of Mark Ingram. The Tide still managed to rush for over 250 yards. Penn State had some early trouble with Youngstown State, but eventually prevailed 44-14. Look for Joe Paterno to have his team ready to play. Alabama opened as 9 ½ point favorites with most books currently putting the game at 12 points. The public is rolling with the Tide at about 4:1

<table id="ats" border="1" width="98%"
