They need John Brantley to step in after three years in waiting. Brantley has the potential to be one of the best pure passers in the nation, if he can handle the pressure of following in Tebow’s footsteps.

Florida is loaded in the backfield with junior Jeff Demps and senior Emmanuel Moody. They have a strong offensive line that should help the running game as well as Brantley. The Gators lost six starters on defense, but they have plenty of talent to step in and take over.

Texas Longhorns (+1826)

Another team that has to replace a star quarterback, the Longhorns will call on sophomore Garrett Gilbert to lead the offense. Gilbert stepped in when Colt McCoy got hurt in last year’s title game, and got his act together after a nervous start. He finished with two touchdown passes, but threw four interceptions.

The Longhorns’ defense will be key in 2010. The unit looks to be strong despite having to replace six starters. They were the top rush defense in 2009 and look to return to the top of the pack in that area. At +1800 Texas could be a great college football pick to win the national championship.

TCU Horned Frogs (+2147)

Tough call here. I had to pick between TCU, Nebraska, and Oregon. The Ducks moved from this category to “stay away” thanks to (ex-) QB Jeremiah Masoli’s continuing legal troubles. Nebraska lacks a little bit of fire power, and TCU offers the better value at +2147.

Quarterback Andy Dalton returns for his fourth season as a starter. The senior threw 23 touchdown passes last season, with only eight interceptions. He has many weapons surrounding him, lead by sophomore running backs Matthew Tucker and Ed Wesley.

While the defense has to replace four key starters, TCU led the nation in total defense in 2008 and 2009. I expect the replacements to step up and the coaching staff to make the right adjustments. TCU should once again be a powerhouse against the college football betting line.

Honorable metnions goes to Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin. If you can find a little better odds on the current Pinnacle numbers I think all 3 are also worth small wagers.

Stay tuned for the over priced teams next article.

In our first article we covered the favorites, now lets move onto some college football teams that have some value and have maddux’s college football picks work for this years college football season. Pinnacle has the odds quoted in this article. Although Bodog and Bookmaker have future odds posted as well for this college football seasons betting […]

[200,1444
1454,90,1923,1924,499,1925,713,372,777,460,1927
post-4710","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-college-football","category-headlines","tag-1454","tag-bcs","tag-college-football-betting","tag-college-football-futures","tag-florida-gators","tag-football","tag-future-odds","tag-ncaa","tag-odds","tag-tcu-horned-frogs","tag-texas-longhors
["GET
