The Buffalo Bills won Week 1 27-17 over the New York Jets. It takes to the road in Week 2, traveling to face the Miami Dolphins as 5.5-point favorites in the affair. NFL Oddsmakers have also set the point total at 41 over\/under, and the game will begin at NOON (EST) on CBS.<\/p>\n

BUF<\/strong><\/p>\n

Buffalo has a lot of room for optimism around QB Josh Allen. He had a tremendous game, throwing 33 of 46 for 312 yards and a pair of TDs. Allen did get sacked three times but lost only six yards total on those foibles. Beyond that, Allen was also the leading rushing threat with 57 yards on a team-high 14 carries. Devin Singletary and Zack Moss combined for 18 attempts but had just 41 yards between them, with Moss proving particularly ineffective with his 11 yards on nine carries. Singletary was not much better at 3.3 per. Stefon Diggs, John Brown, and Cole Beasley all had good games catching the football. Diggs led the way in total catches (8) and yardage (86) but he failed to catch a TD reception. Brown had one TD catch, while Moss made up for his poor day rushing (somewhat anyway) with a TD catch as one of his three receptions.<\/p>\n

Allen did not play flawlessly by any stretch, as he had two fumbles that were both lost. Avoiding picks proved to the key, as even with the backfield producing so little, Buffalo took care of the ball and dominated the clock, helping it close out the hapless Jets who appear no better this season than in the recent past. Miami should prove a bigger threat in Week 2.<\/p>\n

MIA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Miami Dolphins are still awaiting the debut of highly anticipated draft pick Tua Tagovailoa. He was removed from the injury report, and he could see action, as Brian Flores said he is doing \u201ceverything that everyone else is at this point.\u201d Ryan Fitzpatrick has continued to start at QB–and he was not good, not at all.<\/p>\n

Fitz threw 20 of 30 for completion, but he was intercepted three times in the game, all costly. Meanwhile, opposing QB Cam Newton shined in his first appearance for the New England Patriots, throwing 15 of 19 against the Dolphins defense, though he was sacked twice. Newton ran circles around the Dolphins defense, and he is not even fully adjusted to his new team.<\/p>\n

Newton really just punished Miami much like has opponents throughout his time as a Carolina Panther. Newton had a team-high 75 rushing yards while also rushing for a pair of touchdowns. Though the Patriots passed for just 155 yards, it did most of that damage with its top-3 receivers. Julian Edelman had five catches for 57 yards and only missed two targeted passes, while N\u2019Keal Harry had 39 yards on five catches. Harry did fumble, however, and it was not recovered. The beneficiaries of Fitzpatrick\u2019s errant throws were Stephon Gilmore, Adrian Philips, and JC Jackson. That Dolphin secondary will have its work cut out for it in slowing Allen after his strong week 1 for the Bills.<\/p>\n
