Dallas is 8-point favorites in the game, which will be the second in a two-game slate on NBA TV. The over/under is set at 223 total points according to NBA oddsmakers at 5dimes.

DALLAS

The Dallas Mavericks have won five of its last 10 overall SU.

Luka Doncic has gone atomic since returning from injury, but it came with the nasty fact that the other star, Kristaps Porzingis, is now out with right knee soreness.

With Doncic out, the Mavericks got a good look at Kristaps Porzingis, who turned in another strong game in the Mavs’ loss to Boston. He tallied 23 points on 8 of 19 shooting to go along with 13 rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and a steal but is out for an indefinite period now.

On the season Porzingis is averaging 17.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, but all suggestions are that he was able to greatly increase his usage percentage with Doncic unavailable. The Mavericks need to get another guy to step up, because Doncic left a 29.3 point, 8.9 assist hole when he sprained his ankle. While he is expected to make a full recovery and is already back in triple-double form (!), the Mavs are still in overhaul replacing his production. Although the Doncic-Porzingis punch is a strong one, the Mavericks still seem to be lacking a “third star” to complete the picture.

ATS Trends:

Mavericks are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.

Mavericks are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games as a road favorite.

Mavericks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.

Mavericks are 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 road games.

Mavericks are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

Mavericks are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Mavericks are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

Mavericks are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.

Mavericks are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.

Mavericks are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.

Mavericks are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up win.

Mavericks are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.

Mavericks are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight-up win of more than 10 points.

GOLDEN ST

The Golden State Warriors are just 9-32 on the season and in the last place in the Pacific division. It is, thus far, the worst team in the entire Association, in fact. The Warriors have lost its last eight.

This is an unfamiliar territory from a team that had boasted four All-Stars a season ago. Out is Kevin Durant, who signed with the Brooklyn Nets, while the Warriors are also without sharpshooter Klay Thompson. D’Angelo Russell is a dynamite scorer, but the Warriors are also without Stephen Curry for a long period this season due to an injured wrist. Draymond Green returned from injury last game, but he is the only one of the Warriors top-4 players from a year ago to suit up at this point.

For as good as Russell has been, it has not been enough to carry the Dubs to victories. He is averaging 23.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, but he has had efficiency issues (evidenced by his 19.75 PER, which is good, but not outstanding really). The next on the list of active scorers though is rookie and second-round pick Eric Paschall. He has been impressive, almost like a more offensive (and of course less defensive), Draymond Green. Paschall is averaging 14.1 points, 4.5, and 1.8 assists per game.

Former Utah Jazz swingman Alec Burks should add some more scoring, but the Warriors’ issues have been mostly on the defensive end. Golden State scores just 105.3 per game. So, with a patched-up roster consisting of a lot of rookies, young talent, discarded reclamation projects (like Willie Cauley-Stein), the Warriors are simply not a team that stacks up to most of the other teams in the Association anymore.

ATS Trends:

Warriors are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Tuesday games.

Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.

Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Warriors are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Warriors are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

Warriors are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games as a home underdog.

Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.

Dallas at Golden State Time: 9:30 PM CST (NBA TV) Spread: DAL -8 Total: 223 Odds c/o 5dimes The Dallas Mavericks are 24-15 on the season and 12-5 on the road where it takes on the woeful Golden State Warriors.
