49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo started the season slow, but he has come on strong since. He has thrown for 3,978 yards on 69 percent passing, no longer relegated to having to sit the bench behind the legendary Tom Brady in New England. Garoppolo has 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, and he has been sacked 36 times for a total loss of 237 yards. His passer rating of 102 is weak, but it is not that representative of how well he has played since his poor start.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 49ers have three rushing options all topping 500 yards on the season, using a runningback-by-committee approach that has worked darn well. Matt Breida is No. 2 in yardage (623), while Tevin Coleman and Rasheem Mostert have the most attempts (137), and Mostert leads in yards-per-carry (5.6) and total yardage (772). The 49ers average 4.6 yards-per-carry as a team, and though Garoppolo has struggled as a carrier (just 1.3 yards-per-attempt) he has a touchdown and 13 rushes for first down.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 10-6 Minnesota Vikings defeated the New Orleans Saints 26-20 to advance. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dalvin Cook is leading the NFL in rushing, and he had 94 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Vikings rushed for 136 yards, while Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 31 for 242 yards and a TD. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cook thus far is rushed for 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. Mattison and Cousins have one apiece, and wide receiver Adam Thielen has a TD rush on his three rushing attempts. Mike Boone has added three touchdowns but only attempted 16 rushes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thielen also ranks No. 3 the team in receiving yardage with 418 yards on 30 catches and six touchdowns. Stefon Diggs is No. 1 with 63 catches for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cook has also come out of the backfield to catch 53 of 63 targeted passes for 519 total yards. The Vikings are a dangerous offensive team with Cook and Theilen both having been relatively unstoppable thus far in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
