Michigan was dealt a favorable card when the Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated Michigan State last week on a disputed call. At 7-2 with a 4-1 Big Ten record, the Wolverines must win three more games while hoping that either Ohio State or someone else hands Michigan State another \u2018L.\u2019 If that occurs, the Wolverines will be in the Big Ten Championship for the first time.<\/p>\n

The 11-year conference title drought that Michigan has incurred is enough to keep the team rooting for Ohio State next week. DL Taco Charlton said he \u201cdoesn\u2019t know that we could go that far with it,\u201d but beating Michigan State has to be on the players\u2019 minds and especially so after losing to them three weeks ago. LB Joe Bolden said, \u201cWe\u2019re worried about Indiana.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michigan started Jake Rudock in place of Shane Morris, and Jim Harbaugh is still really high on Rudock. He threw 18 of 25 for 337 yards and two TDs while rushing for a four-yard TD and a 2-point conversion as the Wolverines punished Rutgers 49-16.<\/p>\n

Harbaugh said of him, \u201cHe looked like an NFL type quarterback, someone that had a future playing in that league. The way he is now playing and operating, i see that jump he has made.\u201d<\/p>\n

Indiana is still hanging in there, though it is 0-5 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers have faced three top-10 teams in the past six weeks and had a chance to win all of those games. Even so, Indiana has dropped five straight games and the team is tired of looking for silver linings. OC Kevin Johns said it is not enough to \u201csimply be competitive.\u201d The Hoosiers are looking for Ws.<\/p>\n

Indiana lost to Ohio State 34-27, lost 52-26 to Michigan State and 35-27 loss to Iowa last week. The Hoosiers knew it had a tough schedule this season, but it has been every bit as difficult and even more so than anticipated.<\/p>\n

The Wolverines have won 19 straight over Indiana since a loss in 1987. Michigan held Indiana to 191 yards in the 34-10 win last season.<\/p>\n
