The Green Bay Packers are dangerous road underdogs in Week 1 of the 2014 NFL season<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Green Bay could potentially have the most prolific and balanced offense in franchise history this season, which is important to consider when making your Week 1 NFL picks, considering quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be protected by a solid offensive line and a plethora of weapons.\u00a0 The Pacers want to speed things up on that side of the ball\u2014trying to average 75 plays per game after snapping the ball 67.1 times a contest a year ago.\u00a0 Rodgers also has the luxury of handing the ball off to former Alabama star Eddie Lacy, who set a franchise record for rushing yards by a rookie.\u00a0 Green Bay is 4-1 ATS in its last five Thursday affairs.<\/p>\n

The Packers simply need the defense to be serviceable this season, but they could also be one of the league\u2019s best with the offseason addition of former Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears star Julius Peppers.\u00a0 Green Bay slipped to 25th in the NFL in yards allowed and tied for 24th in points allowed last season, which is hard to ignored when looking over the NFL betting lines.<\/p>\n

Seattle will get everyone\u2019s best shot this season after its Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos last year, but it\u2019s important to point out that the front office has done a solid job in locking down some of its key players, including cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Michael Bennett.\u00a0 The Seahawks earned a 14-12 victory over the Packers as three-point home underdogs in their most recent meeting on Sept. 24, 2012, but they were out-gained by a 268-238 margin in that affair.\u00a0 The UNDER is on a 7-0 run in the Seahawks\u2019 last seven games versus conference opponents.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks may be even better this season if quarterback Russell Wilson continues to improve in his decision making, especially since he\u2019s been very pleased with his early dealings with rookie wide receivers Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood.\u00a0 Seattle will need the passing game to provide balance to an offense that\u2019s often been too reliant on running back Marshawn Lynch, who may actually slow down a bit in 2014.<\/p>\n

Sports bettors will likely back the Packers due to their 3-1-2 ATS mark in their last six games in this series.<\/p>\n
