The Florida State Seminoles will be led by last year’s Heisman Trophy winner on offense<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Since the 1999 campaign, the defending national champion has captured all 15 season openers by an average of 31 points, which makes Florida State worth a look on the college football odds page.\u00a0 The Seminoles also return 13 talented starters, including Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, who threw for 4,057 yards and 40 touchdowns a season ago.\u00a0 It\u2019s important to point out that the program is 20-4 SU in road\/neutral openers, but it has split its last four contests in that situation.\u00a0 Florida State is 5-1 ATS in its last six non-conference games.<\/p>\n

The Seminoles had the nation\u2019s best offense and best defense in 2013, which will make them one of the more popular college football picks in Week 1.\u00a0 Wide receiver Rashad Greene will be Winston\u2019s main target in the passing game, as he\u2019s just 42 receptions away from breaking the school\u2019s all-time record in that statistical category.\u00a0 Florida State has garnered a perfect 4-0 SU record in bowl games under head coach Jimbo Fisher, but he\u2019ll need some underclassmen to step up defensively with the loss of its three top tacklers.<\/p>\n

Only six Oklahoma State players have started 10 or more career games, but the school has proven victorious in nine of its last 13 regular season non-conference away\/neutral games.\u00a0 Cowboys signal-caller JW Walsh is expected to lead the offense after throwing for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns with five interceptions, while running back Desmond Roland will be the focal point after accounting for more than 900 yards of total offense in 2013.\u00a0 Oklahoma State has gone OVER the total in seven of its last nine non-conference affairs.<\/p>\n

On the defensive side of the ball, departed seniors accounted for 78 percent of the Cowboys\u2019 tackles, 73 percent of turnovers forced and 87 percent of forced fumbles.\u00a0 Oklahoma State will have a hard time reaching last year\u2019s 10-3 mark, considering it was plus-15 in turnover margin.<\/p>\n

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the UNDER is 6-0 in the Seminoles\u2019 last six games on a neutral field.<\/p>\n
