blowout victory over the Purdue Boilermakers as 10-point home favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total of 49.5.\u00a0 The Bearcats won the statistical battle by 199 yards in that program.<\/p>\n<p>Illinois picked up a 42-34 victory over Southern Illinois as 17-point home favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total of 40.5.\u00a0 The Fighting Illini gained 464 total yards under new offensive coordinator Bill Cubit\u2014racking up six players from scrimmage that went for 30-plus yards.\u00a0 Senior quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase earned Week 1 Big Ten Player of the Week honors after throwing for a career-high 416 yards.\u00a0 Illinois is 3-7 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons\u2014losing all 10 of those affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The Fighting Illini had 20 players make their debuts for the program last week, with six being true-freshmen.\u00a0 Senior wide receiver Ryan Lankford is one of Scheelhaase\u2019s main targers, as he notched a career-high 115 receiving yards last time out.\u00a0 \u201cThis team needs to learn how to win and we\u2019re going to take advantage of winning and try to build momentum,\u201d commented Illinois head coach Tim
