\"\"<\/a>I don’t want to talk about the Lawrence Taylor issue much because it’s just not worth spending much time on. I just can’t resist commenting on one aspect of the case, though. It has come out today that Taylor claimed that he thought the girl was 19, not 16 – as if that was a defense he was offering. So let me get this straight, LT – your defense is that you admit that you paid to have sex with a seedy prostitute who was there against her will and was high at the time despite the fact that you are married, but that’s all okay because she wasn’t 16. Classy. So much for your claims that you didn’t do anything wrong.<\/p>\n

Speaking of ridiculously entitled players, if you haven’t read the story in SI this week about Ben Roethlisberger then you should really check it out. It’s a fascinating, scary read. The guy is essentially a terror when he is out on the town – if he doesn’t get free stuff he erupts. Crazy stuff.<\/p>\n

I knew that it was possible given their new surroundings, but it still caught me off guard today to see that the Twins had been rained out at home. That’s something that hasn’t happened since September of 1980. It will take awhile for them to not be a dome team in my mind.<\/p>\n

Dallas Braden is my new hero. This feud with A-Rod is freaking hilarious. If you missed it, when the A’s met the Yankees in April A-Rod walked across the mound when he was leaving the field after being put out, and Braden is convinced it’s the biggest insult in the history of sports. Braden all but said he wants to fight the playboy, and definitely gave the impression he’ll be head hunting when the teams meet in July. I can’t wait to see that game, though my bet would be that A-Rod will have a mystery injury pop up on that day. Great story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
