Kansas City has scored just three combined runs in dropping its last two contests, as the club dropped just its ninth game by five or more runs during the 2013 campaign.\u00a0 \u201cIt was a clunker,\u201d stated Royals manager Ned Yost.\u00a0 \u201cIt was one of those games.\u201d\u00a0 The Royals are now eight games back of the first-place Detroit Tigers in the AL Central standings.\u00a0 Kansas City is 27-43 in July the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 33-32-5 in that situation.<\/p>\n

Royals starting pitcher Bruce Chen (3-0, 2.04 ERA) didn\u2019t earn a decision in a 3-0 road loss to the Cleveland Indians last time out, as the allowed just a single hit over six shutout innings.\u00a0 The left-hander is 1-0 with a 3.20 ERA in 11 relief appearances at home, with opposing batters hitting .291 against him.\u00a0 In seven career games (six starts) versus the Orioles, Chen has tallied a losing 2-3 record and 5.18 ERA, issuing 16 walks and striking out 24 batters in 33 combined frames.<\/p>\n
