The Los Angeles Lakers have won and covered the spread in all three of their Sunday games this year<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Orlando hits the road after losing the final three games of a five-game homestand, as it comes off a 98-86 setback to the Brooklyn Nets as five-point underdogs on Friday.\u00a0 The Magic will also be competing against on of their former teammates for the first time, as Dwight Howard played the first eight seasons of his career in the Sunshine State.\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t care about facing Howard and the Lakers,\u201d stated Magic center Glen Davis.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019ve got problems over here.\u201d\u00a0 Orlando is 11-5 ATS versus Pacific division teams the last two-plus seasons.<\/p>\n

The Magic are being led offensively by Davis, who is averaging 14.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, while their starting backcourt of Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson are both averaging in double figures.\u00a0 Orlando is 14-32 all-time against Los Angeles during the regular season, including a 4-18 mark on the road.\u00a0 It\u2019s still important to note that the franchise has won six of the last nine meetings in this series, but that was with Howard in tow.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles has alternated wins and losses over its last four games, entering this contest off a dominating 122-103 win over the Denver Nuggets as 5.5-point home favorites, while going OVER the total for the first time in three contests.\u00a0 The Lakers got a huge effort out of Howard in that affair, as he scored 28 points and grabbed a season-high 20 rebounds.\u00a0 He is averaging 18.6 points and 11.1 rebounds in playing 36.1 points a contest.\u00a0 Los Angeles is 9-11 ATS in December since 2010, which is important to consider when making your NBA picks against the spread.<\/p>\n

The Lakers are 7-4 at home at the Staples Center in the early going, which includes a 2-1 mark versus Eastern Conference foes.\u00a0 Los Angeles has managed to win and cover the spread in each of its Sunday games this year, with the OVER going 2-1 in those affairs.\u00a0 It will be interesting to see if the team\u2019s reserves can build off their strong performance on Friday, as they scored 61 points, with Antwan Jamison leading the way with 33.<\/p>\n
