Tennessee Volunteers PG Trae Golden ranks third in the SEC in averaging 5.2 assists per game<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Tennessee has won two of three games when participating in the SEC\/Big East Challenge, but did suffer a home loss against the Pittsburgh Panthers a year ago.\u00a0 The Volunteers have two probable starters averaging in double figures, with sophomore forward Jarnell Stokes leading the way, scoring 14.8 points and grabbing 7.4 rebounds per game.\u00a0 Tennessee is 11-12 ATS on the road the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 17-6 in that situation.<\/p>\n

The Volunteers have gone 7-3 against current members of the Big East Conference since the 2007-08 season, while the UNDER is 3-2 in their last five meetings over the last two-plus campaigns.\u00a0 Tennessee point guard Trae Golden owns a 3.71 assist-to-turnover ratio, while ranking third in the SEC in averaging 5.2 assists per game.\u00a0 Defense has been the name of the game in the early going for this program, as it has held opponents to a 25.6 shooting percentage from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n

Georgetown has won four of its first five contests, with its only setback coming against top-ranked Indiana in the finals of the Legends Classic in Brooklyn.\u00a0 The Hoyas entered the 2012-13 season with one of the youngest teams in the Big East, with 10 freshmen and sophomores on the 15-man roster.\u00a0 The program has won both of its games in this event, but both victories have come against the Alabama Crimson Tide.\u00a0 Georgetown is 10-3 ATS in November the last two-plus seasons, which is an important betting trend to consider when looking at the college basketball odds on Friday night.<\/p>\n

The Hoyas are outscoring opponents by an average of seven points this season, with the team shooting 50.4 percent from the field.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019re still growing up,\u201d commented Hoyas coach John Thompson III.\u00a0 \u201cWe still have guys adjusting to different roles, but we\u2019re a work in progress.\u201d\u00a0 Georgetown is being led on the offensive end by guard Markel Starks, who is averaging 19.3 points over his last three contests, while sophomore forward Otto Porter has averaged 16.7 points and 9.7 rebounds.<\/p>\n

Sports bettors will likely back the Volunteers due to their 4-1 ATS mark on the road, while the Hoyas are 2-10 ATS at home versus a team with a winning road record.<\/p>\n
