id="caption-attachment-4106" class="wp-caption-text">The Oklahoma Sooners should score at least 40 points against the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday

Oklahoma is coming off a 42-34 victory over the Baylor Bears as 21-point home favorites, while going OVER the total for the fifth time in six contests. The Sooners surrendered a season-high 252 rushing yards last week, but there wasn’t much concern about it in the locker room. “We knew we’d suffer a little bit from the run game,” stated Sooners head coach Bob Stoops. The program has lost twice to the Nos. 2 and 3 teams in the nation, which is praiseworthy in itself. Oklahoma is 1-3 ATS as a favorite of 10.5 to 21 points this season, something to consider when making your college football predictions this weekend.

The Sooners lead the Big 12 Conference and rank eighth in the nation in allowing just 170.2 passing yards per game, while possessing the No. 24 scoring defense in the country. Oklahoma is the only team in the conference not to allow a 300-yard passer this year, while outscoring its last five such opponents by a 233-102 margin. Quarterback Landry Jones has completed 151-of-230 passes for 1,861 yards and 14 touchdowns with five interceptions in Big 12 play.

West Virginia has absolutely fallen flat in dropping its last four games since beating Texas on Oct. 6, as it was handed a 55-34 setback to the Oklahoma State Cowboys as 10.5-point road underdogs last week. “You can’t make very simple, junior-high mistakes, and be a very good football team,” stated Mountaineers head coach Dana Holgorsen. The Mountaineers passing game will be tested in facing a Sooners secondary that hasn’t allowed a single player to catch more than six passes in a single contest. West Virginia is 2-7 ATS on the year, with the OVER going 5-3 in those contests.

The Mountaineers continue to rank last in the nation in pass defense, while sitting 117th overall in scoring defense, giving up 41.4 points per game. West Virginia has already broken a school record by surrendering 373 points through nine games of the season. In hopes of slowing down the game, the offense may be hard pressed to do so, ranking 93rd in the country in rushing.

Sports bettors will likely back the Sooners due to their 7-3 ATS mark on the road versus winning home teams, while the Mountaineers are 1-4 in November.

Don’t miss out
