Philadelphia will look to bounce back after losing two consecutive games against the New York Knicks, including a 110-88 loss as 2.5-point home favorites on Monday night.\u00a0 The 76ers are averaging 85.3 points on 37.2 percent shooting this season, which has led to the UNDER cashing in two of their three games to open up the 2012-13 NBA regular season.\u00a0 Philadelphia is 6-6 ATS as a road underdog of three or fewer points over the last two-plus seasons, while the OVER is 9-3 in those contests.<\/p>\n

The 76ers continue to be led by point guard Jrue Holiday on the offensive end, as he\u2019s the only player on the roster that\u2019s averaging more than 15.0 points per game.\u00a0 He led Philadelphia in scoring with 15.8 points in 13 playoff games a season ago, which has allowed him to assume a leadership role in the huddle.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s his team,\u201d commented Evan Turner.\u00a0 Philadelphia has won two of its last three trips to New Orleans, which includes a 101-93 win as 5.5-point road favorites on Jan. 4.<\/p>\n

New Orleans has covered all three of its games in posting a 2-1 straight-up record, while the UNDER is 2-1 in those contests.\u00a0 The Hornets have outscored their opponents by a plus-seven margin this year, which is impressive when considering that all three of those teams made the NBA playoffs a season ago.\u00a0 As a team, the offense is averaging only 90.7 points per game, but own a 44.1 to 40.3 edge in shooting percentage. \u00a0 New Orleans is 4-8 ATS as a home favorite of three or fewer points the last two-plus seasons.<\/p>\n

The Hornets have four projected starters that are averaging double figures offensively, but they will likely play without the services of Anthony Davis, who is listed as doubtful after suffering a mild concussion on Friday.\u00a0 The No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft\u00a0 has made an immediate impact on the team with his solid play on both ends of the floor.\u00a0 \u00a0 Center Robin Lopez will need to continue his strong play, as he ranks second on the team in averaging 14.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n

Sports bettors will likely back the Hornets due to their 8-3 ATS mark off two or more consecutive upset wins as an underdog, while the 76ers are 0-2 ATS off an upset loss of 20 or more points.<\/p>\n
