id="caption-attachment-4132" class="wp-caption-text">The Philadelphia Eagles are 7-1 ATS in their last eight meetings with the New York Giants

New York has the advantage of having a few extra days of rest heading into this contest, as it picked up a resounding 36-7 win over the Carolina Panthers as 2.5-point road underdogs in Week 3. The Giants have scored 61 points over their last five quarters of football, while their opponent has scored 13 points in the same period of time entering this NFC East rivalry game. On the defensive side of the ball, it’s all about getting to the quarterback, as the unit has tallied 27 sacks in this series since 2007. New York is 0-2 ATS off a road blowout win by 21 points or more.

The Giants have gone 9-9 against the Eagles during in regular season meetings under the direction of Tom Coughlin, but did manage to pick up a 29-16 victory on this field as nine-point road underdogs on Sept. 25, 2011. New York did lose the statistical battle by 42 yards in that particular affair. Quarterback Eli Manning is off to a tremendous start this season, as he’s the only player in the NFL with over 1,000 yards through three weeks of the season.

Philadelphia had its two-game win streak snapped in suffering a 27-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week, while the UNDER has cashed in two of three contests. The Eagles have turned the ball over a league-high 12 times this year, which is actually three more than any other NFL team. “I’m very concerned about the turnovers,” commented Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. Expect head coach Andy Reid to use running back LeSean McCoy in a big way Sunday night, considering he’s averaged 104.0 rushing yards in the last four meetings. Philadelphia is 9-3 ATS versus division opponents the last two-plus seasons, while the “under” is 9-3 in that situation.

The Eagles defense will be tested on the perimeter with the Giants possessing two of the better receivers in football, which is why cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha must come up big in coverage. Philadelphia has really struggled to protect Vick in the pocket, but the offense has a chance to gain a lot of yards if the offensive line can hold up, considering New York’s 31st in the league in allowing 6.51 yards per play on defense.

Sports bettors will likely back the Eagles due to their 7-1 ATS mark in the last eight meetings, while the Giants are 5-8 ATS versus NFC East opponents.

Don’t miss out on a winning season and let the NFL handicappers at Maddux Sports line your pockets with cash. Long term packages are available
