TCU Horned Frogs QB Casey Pachall leads the nation in pass efficiency through four weeks of the 2012 season<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

TCU will be out for revenge for last year\u2019s 40-33 overtime loss in this series as 13-point home favorites.\u00a0 The Horned Frogs were actually out-gained in that contest by seven yards, but the defense has been played lights out in three games this year, leading the nation in allowing just 4.3 points per game.\u00a0 \u201cI kind of got upset that Virginia got that touchdown,\u201d commented Horned Frogs linebacker Kenny Cain.\u00a0 The defense has allowed just one touchdown score all year.\u00a0 TCU is 0-3 ATS as a road favorite of 14.5 to 21 points, with the \u201cunder\u201d going 2-1 in that situation.<\/p>\n

The Horned Frogs own the nation\u2019s longest win streak at 11 games, and have won 10 of the last 12 meetings of this series featuring two teams from the Lone Star State.\u00a0 TCU is led by Casey Pachall offensively, who leads the nation in pass efficiency with a rating of 209.9, while the program has scored at least 27 points in 33 of its last 34 regular-season games.\u00a0 It\u2019s still important to note that this is a young football team, as head coach Gary Patterson has played 15 true freshman.<\/p>\n

SMU has gotten off to a dismal start this year in losing two of its first three games, with opponents winning the statistical battle by a triple-digit yardage margin in each contest.\u00a0 The Mustangs are coming off a bye week after suffering a 48-3 blowout loss to the Texas A&M Aggies as 10-point home underdogs, as the offense continues to struggle in the early going.\u00a0 \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of reasons,\u201d stated Mustangs head coach June Jones.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019ve got a lot of new guys in there.\u201d\u00a0 SMU is 2-5 ATS at home when the total is 49.5 to 56, which is important to note when making your college football predictions this week.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs still have a chance of winning back-to-back games against the Horned Frogs for the first time since 1992-93, as they try and get the ball to running back Zach Line, who ranks fourth among active players nationally with 3,206 career yards on the ground.\u00a0 Former Texas Longhorns signal-caller Garrett Gilbert is still adjusting to Jones\u2019 run-and-shoot offense, completing 23-of-49 passes and averaging 4.1 yards per attempt against the Aggies.<\/p>\n

Sports bettors will likely back the Horned Frogs due to their 4-2 ATS record after allowing nine points or less in two straight games, while the Mustangs are 0-4 ATS after scoring that amount of points or less in their previous game.<\/p>\n
