Yankees starting pitcher Freddy Garcia (7-5, 4.68 ERA) has won three consecutive starts, including a 3-2 home win over the Texas Rangers last time out, allowing two runs and four hits over 6.2 innings.\u00a0 The right-hander is 3-2 with a 4.06 ERA in 11 road games (seven starts), issuing eight walks and striking out 36 batters in 44.1 combined frames.\u00a0 In 12 lifetime appearances versus the White Sox, Garcia has tallied a 5-5 record and 4.46 ERA.<\/p>\n

Chicago was swept in a three-game road series against the Kansas City Royals over the weekend, including a 5-2 setback on Sunday afternoon.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s absolutely disappointing,\u201d commented White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski.\u00a0 The White Sox will have a hard time turning things around against the AL East leaders, considering they\u2019ve been outscored by 48-21 margin in losing the last six meetings in this series in the Windy City.\u00a0 \u00a0 Chicago is 6-4 as a home underdog of +100 to +125 this season.<\/p>\n

White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd (9-9, 4.43 ERA) has watched the club win his last two efforts, giving up seven runs (six earned) and 15 hits over 12 combined innings against the Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays.\u00a0 The right-hander is 7-3 with a 4.48 ERA in 13 home outings, surrendering 11 home runs in 78.1 frames.\u00a0 In eight career games (seven starts) versus the Yankees, Floyd has compiled a losing 2-3 record and 6.07 ERA, including a 4-2 road loss on July 1.<\/p>\n

Sports bettors will likely back the White Sox due to their 10-3 mark in Floyd\u2019s last 13 starts as a home underdog, while the Yankees are 2-6 in their last eight road games versus winning teams.<\/p>\n
