and striking out 59 batters in 55.1 combined innings.\u00a0 In 11 career games (one start) versus the Tigers, Sale has registered an even 1-1 record and 3.20 ERA, including a 1-0 mark and 1.69 ERA in three relief appearances at this ballpark.<\/p>\n<p>Detroit is ready to take control of this division and hopes to use the momentum that its ace provided in the series opener, as the club has won three straight and 11 of 13.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s great for your fans,\u201d stated Tigers manager Jim Leyland about the team\u2019s recent play.\u00a0 The Tigers continue to get timely hits at the plate, entering the three-game set leading the majors with a .295 average with runners in scoring position.\u00a0 Outfielder Delmon Young is one of the key players in the lineup, batting .340 and knocking in 44 runs in 71 career games against the White Sox.\u00a0 Detroit is 3-8 at home when the total is 8 to 8.5.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers starting pitcher Rick Porcello (6-5, 4.66 ERA) has led the club to four consecutive wins when he takes the mound, as he didn\u2019t factor into the decision of an 8-6 home win over the Los Angeles Angels last time out.\u00a0 The right-hander is 2-3 with a 5.20 ERA in 10 home outings, with opposing hitters batting .330 against him.\u00a0 In nine career starts versus the White Sox, Porcello has garnered an even 4-4 record and 5.50 ERA, including a 3-1 home win on
