Phillies starting pitcher Cliff Lee (0-5, 4.13 ERA) has watched the club drop his last five efforts, including a 6-2 road loss to the Miami Marlins last time out, giving up six runs and 10 hits over 4.2 frames.\u00a0 The left-hander is 0-1 with a 4.24 ERA in seven road outings, with opponents hitting .293 against him.\u00a0 In six career games versus the Mets, Lee has compiled a 2-1 record and 2.25 ERA, including an 0-1 mark and 4.26 ERA in three games this season.<\/p>\n

New York is swinging a hot bat over its last six contests, hitting .305 with eight home runs and plating 48 runners in that span.\u00a0 \u201cIt just seems like with each win we gain confidence,\u201d stated Mets All-Star third baseman David Wright.\u00a0 Second baseman Daniel Murphy exemplifies that statement, batting .481 with three home runs and 13 RBIs since June 26.\u00a0 New York si 9-4 at home when the total is 8 to 8.5, with the \u201cover\u201d going 7-6 in that situation.<\/p>\n

Mets starting pitcher Chris Young (2-1, 3.30 ERA) has pitched well in his first five starts of the year, picking up a 3-2 road win over the Los Angeles Dodgers last time out, giving up two runs and six hits over 6.1 innings of work.\u00a0 The right-hander is 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA in two home outings, serving up a single home run in 13 combined frames.\u00a0 In seven career starts versus the Phillies, Young has tallied a winning 3-2 record and 3.35 ERA, which includes a 7-1 win on April 5 of last year.<\/p>\n

Bettors will likely back the Mets due to their 21-12 record in day games, while the Phillies are 3-9 in Lee\u2019s last 12 outings as a favorite.<\/p>\n
