has won five games in a row and will go for the sweep against Atlanta in this contest, scoring six runs in the top of the eighth inning in a 6-4 win on Tuesday night. “What a game, right,” commented Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher after the come-from-behind victory. The Yankees were led by third baseman Alex Rodriguez, who tied Lou Gehrig on the all-time list with 23 grand slams. The club is now 9-2 in June, outscoring opponents by a 58-28 margin. New York is 2-4 as a road underdog of +100 to +125, with the “over” going 3-2 in those contests.

Yankees starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda (5-6, 3.46 ERA) has watched the club alternate wins and losses over his last four outings, coming off a 9-1 home win over the New York Mets, tossing seven shutout innings and allowing just one hit. The right-hander has tallied a 1-4 record and 4.17 ERA in six road outings, surrendering six home runs in 36.2 frames. In five career outings versus the Braves, Kuroda has gone 1-4 with a 2.10 ERA, holding them to a .192 batting average.

Atlanta was unable to hold onto a 4-0 lead late in the game, something that the entire dugout was comfortable with until New York’s offense exploded in the eighth inning. “You feel comfortable with a four-run lead with five outs to go,” stated Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez. The Braves are now 4-4 during interleague play this year, while going 2-8 all-time when hosting the Yankees in Atlanta.

Braves starting pitcher Tim Hudson (4-2, 3.83 ERA) has watched the club win his last two outings due to the offense scoring 21 combined runs over that span, but he contributed in a major way last time out, pitching a shutout on the road against the Miami Marlins. The right-hander has gone 2-1 with a 5.92 ERA in four home starts in 2012, but has not allowed a home run in 24.1 frames. In 10 career starts versus the Bronx Bombers, Hudson has registered a 1-3 record and 3.78 ERA, but will need to pitch carefully to Alex Rodriguez. He is batting .359 (14-for-39) with three home runs and eight RBIs in his career against Hudson.

Bettors will likely back the Braves due to their 12-3 record in Hudson’s last 15 home starts, while the Yankees are 4-9 as a road underdog.

Make sure to check out our <a
